If you're looking for a real Sunny Delight, meet Sonny. Sonny is a delightful 4-5 year old male who came
to us after being abandoned at a local vet clinic. He has recently finished heartworm treatment and is ready
to move on to his forever home.
Cuteness Alert! Check out this little cutie patootie! Wags is a darling "Docker", a Dachshund/Cocker mix. He is approximately 3 years old and came to us by way of a local shelter. Nicknamed "Shorty", this dapper little guy has the short legs of a Dachshund but is perfectly capable of keeping up with the other CockerKids when it comes to chasing squirrels. Wags is doggy door trained and gets along well with other dogs. We are head over heels for this designer dog!
When Hurricane Isaac hit the Mississippi shores, the Houston SPCA stepped up to help a number of suddenly lost and homeless
pets. One of the victims was this two year old male cocker with bad skin. The Cocker Inn®; opened
its doors and gave this CockerKid a place to stay and the name Isaac to go by. We will never know if Isaac was left behind
or escaped during the storm but he is safe and sound with CSRET.
His skin issues are being addressed. He tested heart worm negative and came to us already neutered.
He must have been someone's beloved pet because he is housebroken, crate trained and learns commands easily.
This poor little guy has been through a lot but you could make your home the final stop of his travels.
Carter = love + hugs. Everyone who meets 1 year old Carter describes him the same way: "He is always happy". Growing up with other dogs but limited human exposure, he did not know human affection. Making up for lost time, Carter will bury his head in the crook of your arm while enjoying his back and belly rubs. This young boy also enjoys frolicking in the yard, chasing the birds, squirrels or any other critter that invades his yard. With Carter, you get twice the love. Do the math: Forever Home = Carter + Love. Therefore, Forever Home = (2)Love + hugs.
"Success is not measured by what you accomplish, but by the opposition
you have encountered and the courage with which you have maintained the struggle against overwhelming odds."
-Orison Swett Marden
Woody is a precious 8 year old blonde male who checked into the Cocker Inn® in July of 2011.
Woody is a little older than most of the CockerKids® but still ready
for a real home. He has some vision issues that will require eye medications for the rest of his life.
He also has easily treated skin allergies. Get to know Woody and you'll have a friend for life.
This 6 year old bundle of joy was adopted several years ago but was returned to us when his dad could no longer take care of him.
Princeton needs a new family and place to call home. He is cuddly and sweet and appears to be house trained. Princeton
loves to snuggle and is a totally fabulous dog!
Maisie looked so forlorn at the shelter that our volunteer just couldn't resist those sad eyes. We can't can't quite
place the breed that comprise her mix. Maybe a little cocker? What makes her beautiful plumed tail curl over her back? What breeds
contribute to the triangular face and long but slender legs? No matter what her heritage, she is a handsome, athletic girl, about 18 months old.
It is obvious Maisie had a rough start in life. She is very defensive and cowers when you approach to pet her. It takes her a significant amount of time to trust people. She is full of energy and loves to frolic. Maisie will never be a cuddler but if want a fun, active dog, Maisie is the girl for you. For everyone's best interest, Maisie will not be placed in a home with children.
Callie Jo is not our typical rescue. She checked in to the Cocker Inn® looking for a Kitty Club but took a really wrong turn. Callie Jo weighed in at 3 lbs and was estimated to be approximately 6 months old. She's now spent more than half her life sitting among the CockerKids, waiting for someone to get her out of the doghouse. She is a pretty calico girl and still acts like a kitten. She loves to dart around chasing anything that catches her eye. Her foster mom and dad enjoy watching her run and chase her tail. She is very social and never stops purring. She does tolerate some of the Cocker Inn residents, but is ready to check out. Who will let this Callie Jo entertain them? Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call the HotLine at 713-208-1314 to work out a change-of-address for this kitty among the cockers.
