"Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our
grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you".-Nathaniel Hawthorne
Well, Nathaniel Hawthorne may be right but Colt would rather chase butterflies than
sit quietly while waiting for one to alight upon him. Colt is a 1-2 year old chocolate male
who loves to spend his days alternating between chasing butterflies and squirrels and being
curled up in his fluffy bed inside. While he has yet to catch a butterfly, he can jump almost
three feet in the air while trying. This gorgeous little guy loves playing with other dogs and
is quite the snuggle bug. He is doggy door trained and knows to go potty outside. If you are
in pursuit of happiness, just sit down quietly and let this little guy flutter his way into your heart.

"Age is whatever you think it is. You are as old as you think you are." -Muhammad Ali
Cocker Ali is 7 years old but he still "flies like a butterfly and stings like a bee." He was
adopted in 2005 but was returned to us because the family could no longer care for him. He is a real
charmer and is completely housetrained. This is one happy little guy and loves everyone. Like the famous
boxer, Ali says "It's hard to be humble, when you're as great as I am." This guy is a real knockout! |
Shooting stars are amazing streaks of light in the night sky. Shooter is our amazing star.
After back surgery for a ruptured disc, his happy nature and willingness to please made him a star
at rehab. Having completed therapy, he spends his days hanging out with his foster brothers, chasing
squirrels and enjoying his newfound mobility. Shooter needs a home that will watch him and keep him
from over doing it. His therapist recommends a home with no large dogs that might fall on him and
reinjure him. Originally thought to be about 4, we now believe Shoots is 1-2 yrs old. Who can catch
this shooting star and put him in their pocket?More Pics |
Rudy tootie, fresh and fruity.A "golden oldie" and cutie patootie!
Rudy is a senior resident of the Cocker Inn, looking for a home to live out his
golden years. He is a lovable little guy who has been there, done that and now is just content
hanging out, watching TV with his human. If you have room on the Lazyboy for this lazy
boy, give us a call. |
Personality is what it is all about and Kokoa is Mr. Personality. Kokoa strikes us as a
very intelligent dog since he can figure out how to reach items you'd think were well out of his
reach. This six year old sable and white
has a gorgeous coat. He loves to be in the middle of household activity. Kokoa becomes very devoted to the
people he trusts. He does have a few trust issues with men, but dearly he loves his foster "uncle."
Kokoa needs a home that is dog savvy and who will love his energy. More Pics |
You're gonna love this guy "bigger 'n Dallas". That's because he IS Dallas. Dallas is a
stunning 2 year old sable and white male who is soft as cotton and the ultimate snuggle bunny.
He came to us from a local shelter most likely because he wasn't house trained. This boy didn't need
to be taken to a shelter..he needed to be taken to a vet. After observing
his frequent need to urinate, CSR took him to a vet and discovered that he had a large bladder stone.
The bladder stone is now gone but he still has crystals in his urine so he will need to stay on strict
diet of only perscription dog food. Except for that, this boy is as fit as a fiddle and is coming along
nicely on housetraining.

Franklin is a happy go-lucky kind of guy. Around two years old, this chocolate and white male wants to
be part of the action all the time. At times Franklin can cop a bit of an attitude so a family with no children
would be best for Franklin's forever home. Since he is such a handfull, an experienced cocker owner is preferred.
Franklin is crate trained and seems housebroken. He is being treated for struvite crystals in his urine and will
need prescription dog food for his entire life. Franklin at the shelter (face) Franklin at the shelter (body) |
Erin is a lively little girl who has sown her wild oats and is still in the prime of her life. At
8-10 years old, this elegant little lady still has lots of "pep in her step" and will do a little jig
when you walk in the door. Erin appears to be housetrained and will prance her way into your heart.

Champ is tiny 4 year old buff and white male who is absolutely adorable.
He belonged to an elderly lady who could no longer care for him so gave him to a
family member who was keeping him outside. As if the heat wasn't bad enough, this
little guy has cataracts in both eyes and can't see. When he came to the Cocker Inn,
he was absolutely terrified because he didn't know us or where he was or what was
going on. We've had Champ evaluated by a specialist, and unfortunately he is not a
candidate for cataract surgery, so he's going to have to sniff out his new opportunities.More Pics |
"Holy skinny dogs, Batman! This one was nothing but skin and bones!"
Bouncer is a precious 3 year old male. He had been a happy
house dog since he was puppy but when a baby came along, he was
thrown to the batcave. He was sad and depressed at the shelter. He
wouldn't eat so he became extremely thin. He is doing much better
now and is ready to commit to a new home. This
little guy loves his toys and would do best in a home with all adults
or older children. More pics More pics More pics More pics |
Theologians know Micah as a prophet who delivered a message of hope. Micah, the Cocker Kid has a hope, too.
His hope is to get a new home. Micah is an adorable 1-2 year old buff and white male who came to us from a local
shelter in desperate need of care. He had open wounds and needed immediate medical attention. This happy brown
eyed sweetheart is now as good as new and is as happy as a lark. This guy appears to love everyone and we
absolutely adore him.More pics More pics |
A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.-Proverbs 12:10 Sophia is a lovely black and white female who was found abandoned in a field in a small kennel. We're not sure how long she was there, but it was obvious she had been lying in her own waste for quite some time. She was a nasty, smelly mess but once she was cleaned up, she felt like a new girl. This little angel was slow to warm up to us but is gradually learning to trust again. We don't know what Sophia endured before coming to the Cocker Inn but we have assured her that she will never be mistreated again. |
