10 years ago, John and I got the call to pull a dog from a high kill shelter for Cocker Spaniel Rescue. This was our first "pull".
It was heartbreaking to walk the halls to go get him. All the dogs thought we were there for them. We got him home and started shaving off mats the size of baseballs. It took us 3 hours to get all the mats off of him. What we found beneath all that fur was an emaciated dog. I cooked him hamburger and eggs, feeding him little bits every hour. Since we pulled him, we got to name him Ripley slowly gained weight. He was very, very sweet. We wound up adopting him. We loved him for 10 years. He went blind 3 or 4 years ago, but he learned to walk next to the wall to get to our bed to sleep with us.
Ripley loved to go on bike rides wearing his goggles.
Ripley Goff…You will be missed.
